Chinese Ethnic Culture

China is a multi-ethnic nation with 56 ethnic groups in the country. Han ethnic group takes more than 90% of the total, hence called the majority, while the other 55 ethnic groups called minorities. 18 of the minorities have population more than 1 million, among which Zhuang is the biggest with population over 17 millions. All the 56 ethnic groups belong to a same family that has developed Chinese culture.

 

Based on its own history, each of the 56 has developed its ethnic culture respectively. The ethnic culture differs from one another in language, music, costume, architecture, festival, diet and so on. By studying the ethnic culture, one could better understand the spiritual features of each individual ethnic group.
